45-70 Government SCS® TUI® - 300Gr Solid Copper Ammo

On black bear and deer I have had great success. In field dressing the game internal damage was significant from the tumbling bullet. This is all I use In my 45-70

I purchased 2 boxes of this to sight in my new Marlin 1895SBL. Experianced over 300 FPS deviation in velocity. After 7 rounds I started experiancing difficulty chambering rounds. Found lots of unburned powder stuck to chamber walls ( explains velocity deviations. Cleaned chamber and fired a few more rounds then experianced a squib round that lodged a bullet just past the chamber ( good thing I did not attewmpt to fire additional round).
Cleared lodged bullet and tried another brand of ammo which performed trouble free and flawlessly.

Bought 2 boxes to try-out. Out of the first 7 shots, I had 3 misfires. Literally every other shot was a dud. Finished the sighting in and the shooting secession with Hornady ammo. P.S. the primers were hit very hard..

Bought these rounds at the Tulsa gun show on 11-12-17. Sighted my Rossi .45-70 in yesterday for deer season. VERY VERY impressive round! 250 yards, open sights this load was DEAD on. Had i not been there and seem it i never would have believed it. I will hunt with nothing BUT fort scott munition rounds from now on!!
